FRUIT “ SOMMELIER” IN SCHOOLS: ANNOUNCED BY THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, UNIVERSITY AND RESEARCH AND COLDIRETTI

Mariastella Gelmini, Minister of Education, University and Research and Sergio Marini, Chairman of the Italian Farming Trade Union, Coldiretti, presented the contents of the memorandum they signed. Part of the agreement is to bring awareness and a sense of civic duty to young people to respect the environment as well as Italian food traditions. A concrete example of cooperation with student participation will be the lesson taught by fruit “sommeliers”, to be held on May 27th at the Ministry of Education, University and Research. The sommeliers are members of the National Association of Fruit Tasters (Onafrut), whose goal is to promote awareness and knowledge about the consumption of essential foods in young peoples’ diets.
