Celebrated, as an event, the 100/100 of Robert Parker, the American guru of the world’s wine critics, creator of one of his most authoritative publications, “The Wine Advocate”, have been for years a sort of unreachable Holy Grail for the labels of the Belpaese. Something, however, under the eyes, and especially the attentive and curious palate of Monica Larner, correspondent in Italy for “The Wine Advocate”, is changing, and if the status of habitué, which can boast the brands of California and Bordeaux, is still far away, some peaks are becoming more and more successful custom, able to break more than one taboo in a short time. And if a few months ago it was the turn of the first white wine, the Gewürztraminer Epokale 2009 of Cantina Tramin, now there is another: the Masseto is in fact the first wine to reach 100/100 for two consecutive years, confirming with the year 2016 the peak reached with 2015, and thus also becoming the first label to put in a row three 100/100, of which the first with the vintage 2006, not when it came out on the market but in a vertical retrospective.
