NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES SERVED IN PUBLIC PLACES AFTER 2 AM, READS THE AMENDMENT BY SENATOR GRILLO (PDL) ON THE BILL FOR THE NEW HIGHWAY CODE. ON MAY 4 IN THE SENATE, THEN THE HOUSE.

Everyone to bed after Carosello (the Carousel, ex TV show of commercials on air from the late 50’s to the late 70’s), recited a slogan that now belongs to the Italy of last century. “No alcohol after 2am in any public place” could instead be Italy’s new slogan at the end of 2010. This is what the redrafting of the amendment Nr. 23.0.2 by Senator Luigi Grillo (People of Freedom political party), President of Commission VIII (Public Works) states, as inserted and approved at a meeting on the bill to reform the Highway Code. In short, it would extend the ban on the sale of all, absolutely all alcoholic beverages in every, absolutely every place specified in Article 86 of the “Royal Decree of 18 June 1931, Nr. 773 (and successive amendments): hotels, including daytime hotels, inns and guesthouses, restaurants, taverns, coffee or other stores where they sell wine, beer, spirits or other non-alcoholic beverages for retail or consumption and also, no public billiard halls or other legitimate game halls, swimming pools, beach clubs or similar places”.
Virtually everywhere. On May 4, after Labor Day holiday, the Senate should conclude its consideration of the bill and pass the ball to the Chamber of Deputies.
