The best wine in the world is Made in the USA, said the luxury Hotel chain, Sofitel

The best wine in the world is Made in the USA, revealed an interesting study conducted by Sofitel, Accor Group's French luxury Hotel chain that has over 120 locations worldwide. The study, with all due respect to Italy and France that are convinced of sharing leadership both in quantity and quality, considered production levels (OIV data), export levels (WorldsTopExports.com) and verdicts (from Vivino, the most widespread app amongst wine consumers, ed.) of wines from the top 20 producing countries. The rankings revealed that wines from the United States achieved an average score of 82.6, meaning they are ahead of, even though just slightly, those from France (82.3) and Italy (81.1). These top three, at just a few decimal points apart, put a check on competitors, since at least 9 countries got an average score between 80.9 and 80 points on their wines’ evaluation. These include, in order: New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, South Africa, Portugal, Spain, Austria and Argentina. Countries scoring between 79.7 and 77.8 points are Switzerland, Greece, Chile, Brazil, Romania, Turkey and Hungary, while China is the lowest, at 69.5 average points.
