THE ITALIAN COCKTAIL ‘SPRITZ’ IS THE HOTTEST DRINK IN THE U.S.: FROM NEW YORK TO LOS ANGELES, PROSECCO MIXED WITH APEROL IS ALL THE RAGE

It’s on the drink list of the most famous bars in New York, as well as the most important Italian restaurants, and even in Los Angeles and Las Vegas it has become a phenomenon: the Italian cocktail ‘Spritz’ has conquered America.
The classic recipe – based on Prosecco, Campari or Aperol, and a slice of orange – has received fanfare from not only those who go to bars, but also those who have friends over for drinks at home because it is easy to prepare and does not require any particular tools.

A confirmation of its success also appears on the internet: the ‘Spritz’ group counts over 90,000 registrations in the U.S alone. But, while, Italian liquor may be strong there, China still prefers whisky (500 million whisky drinks are consumed each year), Russia its traditional vodka, India whisky and brandy, Japan prefers Suntory, and Brazil cachaca, while in Europe, Germany toasts with beer, the French adore anise-based drinks, the English like Rum, and the Spanish scotch and Coca-Cola.
