WINE & CINEMA

With Ernesto Abbona, Stefano Accorsi’s passion for wine

During Collisioni event , in the terrace of Marchesi Barolo, the encounter between the historical producer of Barolo and the actor

“After Langhe Roero and Monferrato and Passito di Pantelleria, the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene became an UNESCO World Heritage . This is another evidence of the importance of wine in the Italian culture, as in the cinema, linked to specific moments, especially the emotional ones. This is the spirit of our welcome here in Barolo for Collisioni, and we would like to know what is your relation with wine, if you drink it, if it is part of your everyday life.” That’s how Ernesto Abbona,  head of the Barolo Marchesi di Barolo label, during Collisioni event, stops to be producer and president of Unione Italiana Vini-Uiv, and becomes journalist , receiving one of the most important actor of the Italian cinema in the last twenty years, Stefano Accorsi, in the observation deck , that overlooks the capital of Langhe. And Stefano Accorsi stops to be actor, and becomes a real wine lover. “After finished to film “La Dea Fortuna by Ferzan Ozpeteck a few days ago, Vivino app became my ruin. During the shooting, basically, I don’t drink, but wine has always been part of my life. My father used to buy demijohns, in Romagna, and he bottled wine himself at home, and I like it very much. When I got married, we gave a bottle of oil and one of wine produced in Tuscany by my agent of that time as party favor. Today , instead, wine culture is very popular, I know many friends that are experts , in film making and more, that spend their weekend to discover territories and companies.” In conclusion, the president of Unione Italiana Vini-Uiv , talking to Stefano Accorsi, says “I ask you , that are able to return things with your movies, to tell about wine as it deserves, not just as any alcoholic drink, but as an element that makes feast, that contributes to the daily diet”. Is it possible a new axis across Barolo, between wine and cinema? Certainly, relations are good, since forever, and the best wish is that they become idyllic.
