WINE’S REPUTATION IS EXCELLENT EVEN ON THE WEB, REVEALS THE BUSINESS INFORMATION FIRM CRIBIS D & B REPORT, AND CROWNS VINITALY, SANGIOVESE, PINOT, BRUNELLO AND MUSCAT AS THE MOST QUOTED AND PRESTIGIOUS KEYWORDS ON LINE

Oscar Wilde wrote, "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about", who is often quoted by journalists and mass-mediologists, but this quote does not sit well with wine, which instead owes its success to a very positive reputation. Even on the web, as the report by Cribis D & B the company specialized in business information (www.cribis.com), reveals. It monitored the reputation of the wine world on the web, analyzing all the documents related to the world of wine products online in the past 12 months on news sites, institutional portals, blogs and social networks.
Wine is one of the most popular subjects on the web: in the last year 37.794 documents talked about wine and a positive sentiment (a synthetic judgment expressed as a percentage, and linked to the map of contextual concepts, people and places associated with the word analyzed) of 9.361%, especially due to attributes such as "good", "excellent", "healthy", "pleasurable", "freshness" and "fragrance". Another subject that has the web talking is Vinitaly, considered to be the most "elegant", "prestigious" and "important" event as 2.807 documents confirm, and a very positive sentiment (20.391%). The keyword "vineyards" also has a very positive sentiment, 22.809%, and 134 documents per month.
In particular, the most talked about “red table wines” are Lambrusco (32 documents per month, and linked to all those topics that have to do with Modena and the foods of the Emiliano region from "parmesan" to "salami"), Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet, but the sentiment is best for Sangiovese (14.169%, and often linked to "Tuscany" and "Montalcino"), while among the "white table wines", the most mentioned are by far Pinot and Chardonnay, distancing Verdicchio, Vermentino, Greco di Tufo and Falanghina. Pinot, linked mostly to "Friuli", is also the most mentioned white wine on the web, with a sentiment of 18.668%, ahead of Chardonnay, Verdicchio and Greco di Tufo.
In the category of "fine reds", Barolo and Brunello top all the others, and the Tuscan red is the most mentioned, with 187 documents per month (linked to words like "Sangiovese", the territory of "Montalcino" and the producer "Biondi Santi"), and the Piedmont wine is the favorite (linked territorially to "Piedmont", and firms like "Pio Cesare" and "Gagliardo"), with a sentiment of 20.449%, followed by Barbaresco and Amarone. Among the sweet wines it's all about Moscato (133 documents per month, linked mostly to "Piedmont", "Asti" and the concept of "sweet"), and the sentiment is 17.817%, followed by Passito, Recioto and Albana, while, surprisingly, the web prefers Spumante (sentiment 17.273%) to Champagne (15.599%), considered too "expensive" by most.
