The food & beverage giants like Ferrero, Danone and Barilla are close to Fiat, Volkswagen, Vodafone and Wind among the top spenders in advertising in 2009. However, there is an overall decrease of 18% over 2008, according to Nielsen data, comparing investments in January-April 2009 and the same period in 2008. As far as the media is concerned, the only positive sign is the web: television is on record at less 15.3%, and the press in general has lost 25.6% in investments, while Internet has increased by 6.7%.
