History sometimes repeats itself in life, in wine, and even in football. In 2012, the Spanish and Italian national football teams competed in Kiev, for the European Cup Final. Italy lost 4 to 0. There were two "vignerons", champions on the field, Andres Iniesta, who owns the winery Bodegas Iniesta, in Castilla-La Mancha, and Andrea Pirlo, " wine producer" in his family winery Pratum Coller, in the province of Brescia.
The two rivals will meet again for another European final, the Champions League on June 6th in Berlin, Barcelona and Juventus. Hopefully, needless to say, the end of this historical repeat event will be different, and this time the toast of victory will have a decidedly Italian flavor...
