Everyone dreams about a refined and elegant menu prepared by a famous chef. But then, popular Italian tastes, (of high quality of course) wins out. Thus, the ideal menu for Italians is the classic lasagna, roast chicken and tiramisu, reveals a survey conducted by the monthly magazine "Focus". Their online survey offered their readers 32 Italian traditional recipes to choose from. For the first courses, 27% of Italians chose Lasagna with meat sauce followed by pizza (20%) and, at a distance the evergreen "gnocchi with butter and sage”, 4%.
Roast chicken (with roast potatoes, of course) dominates the entrees, with 38%, followed by T-bone steak (29%). Way down on the list was boiled meat, chosen by only 1%. Fried fish dominates the fish dishes (43%), and eggplant Parmesan is number one among the vegetable dishes (35%). Naturally tiramisu triumphs in the dessert course, with 46% of the vote.
