Massimo Bottura, heart and soul of the project “Food for Soul”

There is no doubt that the role of chefs as opinion leaders and reference models, has grown over the years. Now, to “certify” it, the famous “The 100 Most Influential People of 2019” of the historical American weekly “Time”, every year lists the most influential people in the world. The Italian Massimo Bottura is the number one chef in the world who, at his three Michelin starred restaurant, Osteria Francescana of Modena, has brought contemporary Italian cuisine to global notoriety. His projects “Food For Soul” and the “Refettori” in Milan, San Paulo in Brazil, London, Paris and more, together with a host of other great Italian chefs, has for years been committed to spreading the culture of food and creative cuisine as an act of social inclusion and a tool of environmental and social sustainability, with the vision of restaurants as “modern Renaissance shops”, where first culture is created, and then great dishes. Keeping Bottura company in the “Pioneers” category of the 100 most influential list, is the American chef, of Iranian origin, Samin Nosrat, a pupil of Alice Waters, author of the best seller “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat”, star of the series of documentaries of the same name, dedicated to cooking, on Netflix (the first episode, which aired in November 2018, was dedicated to Italy, ed.), as well as a “food columnist” for “The New York Times”.
Further, other Italians among the 100 most influential people of 2019, are the Italian Minister of the Interior and Vice-President of the Council, Matteo Salvini, and Pierpaolo Piccioli, designer, stylist and creative director for Valentino.
