Fine wines, gastronomic products (from panettone to chocolates), beauty products and parties and aperitifs (summarized under the heading “entertainment”). These purchases are at the top of the ranking of Christmas expenses of European companies, according to a survey by Soldo, a fintech company specialized in the management and control of business expenses, which investigated the purchasing behavior of companies throughout Europe during the month of December and the Christmas period.
During the reference period, European companies spent +239% on wine purchases compared to any other month of the year, with a record in the United Kingdom where the figure almost triples to around +274%. Italy is far away (+101%), with absolute data, however, high compared to the European average and maintained throughout the year.
As it was easy to see, the highlight of the week of celebrations between aperitifs and meetings is concentrated, throughout Europe, in the third week of December. However, if the “very best sellers” in Italy are beauty products, the number of trips has dropped surprisingly: -25% throughout Europe and the supremacy of Italians, 33% of whom choose not to travel during December.
