These are the finest Italian wines that are capable of best expressing their strong territorial identity as well as the best of biodiversity. These wines have been awarded by the sommeliers of the Italian Sommeliers Association, AIS, guided by Antonello Maietta, who is at the head of an army of 40.000 sommeliers throughout Italy. “Sommeliers today are additionally storytellers, researchers and wine promoters”, he told WineNews. “The wines their expert palates have selected for Vitae, La Guida Vini 2019, are for the new edition that has been presented in Milan, including an exclusive preview set in the superb Westin Palace, and there is also the opportunity, glass in hand, for wine enthusiasts to take a tasting journey around the 614 wines that have earned the highest award, the Quattro Viti (four vines).
