The association of European wine economists has been founded by Jean-Marie Cardebat

A think tank, based on the American Association of Wine Economists’ model, aimed at the wine supply chain, but at a European level: it is still an emerging project, but the association of European wine economists is beginning to take shape, under the guidance of Jean-Marie Cardebat, director of the Laboratoire d’Analyse et de Recherche en Economie et Finances Internationales of the University of Bordeaux. In the meantime, Cardebat has convened a leadership committee made up of a dozen members of the great Tuscan, Spanish and Burgundy Wine Families, headed by Bernard Magrez, Bordeaux wine magnate and sole owner of four Grand Crus Classes.
