Masi Agricola leading producer of Amarone della Valpolicella was listed on AIM Italy, the Italian stock market reserved for SMEs. Negotiations will start officially on June 30th. The price set for each share is 4.6 euros in what is being called "the largest operation raising capital on AIM Italy" (www.masi.it). 6 million 436 thousand shares sold, of which 4.347.000 came from the capital share of the company and 2.089.000 were put up for sale by the shareholder Alcedo Sgr, through Bac.co Spa.
“Our family, which did not sell even one share, holds the majority of capital”, said the president of Masi Agricola, Sandro Boscaini. The company was listed, explained a statement, following the institutional placement addressed exclusively to qualified Italian investors and foreign institutional investors (excluding the United States, Australia, Canada and Japan and any other jurisdiction in which the institutional placement is subject to restrictions). The demand is about 55% from 25 Italian investors and the remaining 45% from 32 foreign investors.
“I am very satisfied with this first alliance in Italy of quality wine production and capital market, which is a necessary synergy”, commented Boscaini, “for growth in a globalized world. We will establish a long-term relationship with our new shareholders, based on wide-ranging programs and regular and transparent communication”.
“The listing is the realization of the goal shared with the Boscaini family”, said Maurizio Masetti, President of Alcedo Sgr “, at the beginning of our profitable collaboration. Alcedo remains shareholder of the company, in view of achieving further growth targets that the company and the shareholders have set ”.
