The historic and prestigious auction house Bolaffi in Turin, will once again highlight fine and rare wines. The auction will take place at Sala Bolaffi on November 17th featuring many gems from Luigi Veronelli’s private wine cellar, special formats and cult vintages of both French and Italian wines, starting price 655.000 euros for a total of 579 lots (www.astebolaffi.it/vini-rari).
73 lots of Italian wines come from Veronelli’s collection including, Bolaffi has notified, Barbaresco Gaja (1961-2001), Bruno Giacosa (1964-1998), several bottles signed by Giacomo Conterno Barolo Monfortino (1961-1985), Barolo Cascina Francia of various 80s vintages. Further, Mascarello Barolo 1964 to 1987, a selection of Amarone and Recioto della Valpolicella Giuseppe Quintarelli 1971 to 1980, as well as a vertical Pergole Torte Montevertine 1977 to 1987, the same time frame of the Brunello di Montalcino Case Basse di Gianfranco Soldera selection. There will of course be many lots of Super Tuscans, Sassicaia (1970-1998), bottles of Tignanello 70s and 80s, and a very rare prototype bottle of Solaia 1978 with a handwritten label.
There are many extremely rare and precious bottles in the catalog, which will be published in the next few days, including 12 assorted bottles of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1990 (starting price 25.000 euros) and three Château Mouton Rothschild 1945 (starting price 11.000 euros).
The special formats in the auction include Barolo Monfortino 1961 Giacomo Conterno "Quarto di Brenta" (13.7 liters), starting price 18.000 euros, two five-liter bottles of Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1990 (starting price 3.500 euros), one six liter Château Lafite Rothschild 1988 (starting at 3.500 euros) and a5 liter Château Lafite Rothschild 1986(starting price 5. 000 euros).
Among the rare and prestigious vintages, two bottles of Château Margaux 1900, starting price 13.000 euros each, three bottles of Giacomo Conterno Barolo Monfortino 1929 (total lot starts at 900 Euros), a bottle of Romanée-Conti Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1959, starting at 3.500 euros, and a Magnum Champagne Krug Collection 1938 (starting at 1.000 euros). The catalog also includes several bottles in various formats of "Re di Pomerol," Petrus, in a considerable range of vintages from 1982 to 2010.
