WHAT IF THE ART OF SOMMELIER WAS TAUGHT ON RADIO? IT IS! THE FIRST ON AIR COURSE FOR SOMMELIERS BY RAI RADIO 2 AND AIS, THE ITALIAN ASSOCIATION OF SOMMELIERS WILL GO ON AIR STARTING FEBRUARY 23RD, ON THE CULT PROGRAM DECANTER BY FEDE & TINTO

Audio by winenews.tv:
Wine& Food programs are more and more frequent on the national radio station, Rai: the program “ Decanter” (Radio 2) will broadcast the first sommelier on-air course (together with AIS). And on Web Radio 8, the program “on Wine” (with WineNews). Comments by the director Socillo and Tinto ( Decanter)

You can learn which glass to use for which wine while your driving; clean house while listening to the story of a particular wine and its vigneron; go jogging and learn what is the best dish to accompany your favorite wine: what if you could learn the art of Sommelier on the radio? It is now reality: the first “On Air Course for Sommeliers” is an exclusive of Rai Radio 2 in collaboration with AIS, the Italian association of sommeliers, which goes on air starting February 23rd, every Thursday at 8:00 pm, on “Decanter”, the widely followed popular wine & food program by Fede & Tinto (Federico Quaranta and Nicola Prudente) downloadable for free also in pod cast, the “best” on radio (the program will be presented on February 21st in Rome at the Rome Cavalieri Hilton). To spread the culture of wine and reach as many people as possible, the world of wine, according to a trend recorded by Winenews, one of the sites wine lovers click the most, strays from traditional channels to use all communication tools. From February 23rd, Fede & Tinto will broadcast the first official sommelier course on their program “Decanter”.
The weekly lessons, every Thursday, will be held by official AIS teachers who will take turns each week teaching Fede & Tinto and all the Radio2 listeners. The course will follow three themes: the art of drinking well; Italian vineyards and wineries and the correct pairing of wine with food.
There will be seven lessons for each theme, which are also available on demand on pod cast (info: www.radio2.rai.it). And the listeners, aspiring to become sommeliers, can test their comprehension thanks to the quizzes published online after each lesson. Those who pass the test will receive an official diploma from AIS.
But that’s not all: “to continue spreading the culture of drinking intelligently, each student that passes the test will also receive a yearly subscription to the AIS sommeliers magazine “Bibenda”, and the guide to the best wines in Italy”, explain Fede & Tinto, who will also be taking the course, “we are sharing the experience with our listeners: it’s a free course and we are proud to launch it on air”. This is the latest idea from Flavio Mucciante, director of RaiRadio2: a series of free lessons taught by top Italian experts; a “school on radio” available also on demand (so students can also have a quick review before the test), thanks to podcast. “We’re here every evening on “Decanter” on Radio2”, say the speakers, “and starting February 23rd we will also interact with Twitter (@RaiRadio2) exchanging tips, doubts and suggestions, as if we were all together in a classroom”.
