Edition n. 9 of a partnership that sees one of the most important players in world wine information Wine Spectator collaborates with VeronaFiere and Vinitaly in the selection of over 100 Italian producers for this grand tasting, now consolidated appointment on the eve of the largest international wine show. The peculiarity of OperaWine, housed in one of the historic buildings in the heart of Verona (Gran Guardia), is that to mix their best vintages to a selected audience of foreign buyers and opinion leaders (journalists, sommeliers, experts) are just the people who produced those wines.
“OperaWine” 2020, therefore, will see for tasting the wines of the producers that Wine Spectator has selected in its blind tasting in New York: 24 are new entries, 13 of which are absolute and 11 are returns from previous editions. All the Italian regions are represented. The most represented region, with 24 wineries, is Tuscany, followed by Piedmont (16) and Veneto (13). “OperaWine” is the only event organized abroad by the American magazine of reference on the world of wine and is an important opportunity to promote the Made in Italy wine on the U.S. market, always strategic for the Italian labels.
