ITALY PLAYS A PART IN STARBUCKS “REVOLUTION”: THE FAMOUS AMERICAN COFFEE SHOP CHAIN HAS BEEN SERVING WINE FOR A FEW YEARS, WITH GROWING SUCCESS. AND NOW HAS ALSO CHOSEN VILLA SANDI’S PROSECCO

Italy is also playing a part in Starbucks’ "Revolution": the famous American coffee shop chain (nr. 3 in the U.S., with 9.8 billion dollars in sales just in the States) has been experimenting serving wine in some stores in the U.S. and beyond. The results, it seems, are great, since the stores where wine (and beer) has joined coffee and cappuccinos have doubled.
And the experiment continues, with a touch more of Made in Italy: among the bottles that customers can enjoy at Starbucks, now, there is also the Prosecco DOC "Il Fresco", one of the most successful wine brands of the Venetian Villa Sandi winery. And the chain is also starting to experiment offering evening dining, so who knows, maybe another unexpected (and potentially huge) channel for Made in Italy taste is being opened.
