A STOP TO PLASTIC BOTTLES – THE NEW TREND IS “DO-IT-YOURSELF” CARBONATED DRINKS. DOMESTIC GASIFIERS ARE MONEY SAVING AND LOWER THE IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT

There was once Idrolitina, a solution that carbonated water and that was the passion of Italian children in the 1970’s. Today, innovative solutions to create sparkling water at home are being rediscovered, in an attempt to cut the skyrocketing cost of living and, above all, after an overdose of millions and millions of plastic bottles of mineral water, to lower the impact on the environment.
One of the most interesting ideas is the gasifier produced by Sodastream.
It functions with a refillable carbon cartridge that can create up to 150 liters of water. All one needs to do is fill the plastic (and reusable) water bottles and, after having inserted it into the gasifier, push a button. The longer this button is held down the more carbonated is the water. It is also possible to make other carbonated drinks with the concentrates available in twenty different flavors. The price varies from 75 euros for the Jet model to 224 euros for the Penguin model, which includes glass bottles.
