Today in Milan at Palazzo Marino, Federalimentare of Confindustria (Italian food industry federation, part of the Italian employers’ federation) and the Ministry of Education, Universities and Scientific Research, Minister Gelmini and the President of the Food Industry Association, Ferrua, signed the agreement to promote a three year program of teaching correct eating habits in schools.
Riccardo Garosci, Minister Gelmini’s adviser and the President of the technical–scientific committee “School and Food” believes that “it is necessary to promote the culture of correct eating habits through a systematic approach aiming at examining Italian nutritional habits and spreading the idea of quality food linked to basic parameters: safety, the senses, nutritional values, respect for the environment, respect for ethical principles and gratification in purchasing and consuming”.
