In one of the most important museums in the world, “showcase” of modern and contemporary art masterpieces in Italy, visitors can now purchase a selection of wines and Made In Italy products: the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice has dedicated a special space to Italian food and wine products, thanks to the project “The Italian Taste. When Food is Art “.
This initiative was created by Buonitalia Spa and implemented through the Memorandum between the Ministries of Agriculture, Food and Forestry for Cultural Heritage, which will bring Italian artistic productions of nutritional excellence to places of cultural, in a true marriage of taste and beauty. There are already “corners” in the collections of the Archaeological Museum of Paestum, the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, the Royal Palace in Caserta, the Stables of the Quirinal Palace, the Auditorium – the Music Park and the Museums in Rome. Made in Italy excellence will now be on display among the masterpieces of the Guggenheim in Venice, the most important museum in Italy for European and American art of the first half of the twentieth century.

“This project - said the president of Buonitalia Spa, Walter Brunello - thanks to new strategies initiated by Minister Zaia, Buonitalia Spa, in collaboration with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, will provide the opportunity for museum visitors to buy selected wines conveying, especially to foreign tourists, the important message of the level that food and wine production holds in the Italian artistic heritage”.
The idea of combining food and art in the temples of culture - Brunello concludes - came from the desire to make known that Italian food products are real masterpieces of craftsmanship and therefore also spatial forms of art. Today, we are proud to present, during the Tower of Delvoye show, tasting of Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) and Protected Geographical Indication (IGP) products, accompanied by quality wine that only our country produces”.
