OPTIMISM AND A REBOUND BY THE END OF THE YEAR: LEONARDO LO CASCIO, PRESIDENT OF WINEBOW (ONE OF THE TOP ITALIAN WINE IMPORTER IN THE U.S.) PLACES HIS BET

Amidst the dire news on Italian wine that has been arriving from the U.S. recently, there is also an interesting and more upbeat message that recently arrived. And it comes from an important figure as well: Leonardo Lo Cascio, president of Winebow, one of the most important Italian wine importers in the U.S. (among the likes of Allegrini, Argiolas, Bruno Giacosa, Castellare, Di Majo Norante, Falesco, Leone de Castris, Mastroberardino, Montevetrano, Morgante, Prunotto, Roberto Voerzio, San Polo, Sansonina, Tasca d’Almerita, Valdipiatta, Valle Reale, and Zenato).
Lo Cascio recently sent a letter to various winemakers explaining, “…the state of the American economy after two very hard years of recession seems to be showing the first timid signs of stabilizing and there is talk of a rebound by the end of the year or during the first half of 2010. We are optimistic for a future that will present a less congested market and a Winebow in optimum health”.
