WINE MEETS ART ON THE TUSCAN COAST: FROM JULY 18-31 THE “BOLGHERY MELODY” FESTIVAL WILL HOST FAMOUS ARTISTS: ROBERTO BOLLE, IRENE GRANDI, STEFANO BOLLANI, MASSIMO RANIERI, ROBERTO BENIGNI

A combination wine and art festival on the splendid Etruscan Coast, “Bolghery Melody” (www.bolgherimelody.com) will take place in the arena dedicated to Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, “father” of Sassicaia wine, in Bolgheri, from July 18 to 31. The festival will host performances of great Italian artists. It begins July 18th with the Scala Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Harding and ends July 29th with the gala evening of the famous dancer Roberto Bolle & Friends. Roberto Benigni will perform for the gran finale on July 31st. Other great artists and shows are planned from July 23 to 25 with Massimo Ranieri, Irene Grandi, Stefano Bollani, and Enrico Rava. On July 27th “a night dedicated to Chopin” celebrating 150 years of his birthday anniversary, with piano concerts and wine tasting at over 30 participating wineries in Bolgheri.
There will be a ”Bolgheri Award”, organized by the Marchesi Antinori: a benefit auction of rare bottles of the Ornellaia Estate (Marquis Frescobaldi). Along the Bolgheri road, between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, leading to the famous double rows of cypress trees, on July 23rd there will be a tasting of red wines of the Bolgheri Superiore Doc winery, “Caccia al Piano” 1868 and a concert dedicated to Chopin. Proceeds from the sales of Bolgheri DOC wines and the show will be donated to charity.
