Castello dei Rampolla and Giuseppe Rinaldi are Wine Lister’s “Must Buys”

Yes, it seems the time has come for Italian fine wines to shine, as Liv-ex, the benchmark of the secondary market for fine wines, announced on its index dedicated to Italian brands, Italy 100, which has grown 9.7% in the last 12 months. Wine Lister, the portal that brings together the best wines in the world based on critics’ scores, distribution and aging potential has also confirmed this. At the top of the list dedicated to the “Must Buys”; in other words, the 100 wines in which to invest for value for money and appreciation capability, there are two Italian wines: d’Alceo 2013 of Castello dei Rampolla and Barolo Brunate Le Coste 2010 by Giuseppe Rinaldi, at 100 points each, ahead of the Premier Cru of Bordeaux, Chateaux Margaux 2009, which is on the lowest step, in third place, at 99 points, tied with Apparita 2004 of Castle of Ama.
Following the top three positions, though, there are a myriad of Italian wine brands in the rankings. The wines ranked at 98 points include: Chianti Classico Riserva Vigna del Sorbo 2010 of Fontodi, Apparita 2013 of Castello di Ama, Masseto 2007, Barolo Rocche of Castiglione 2014 by Vietti, Sammarco 2006 of Castello di Rampolla, Tignanello 2015, the 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Marchi Collection by Isole and Olena, Barolo Cascina Francia 2006 by Giacomo Conterno, Percarlo 2013 by San Giusto a Rentennano, Masseto 2010 and Sammarco 2013 of Castello dei Rampolla.
