Pretending to be knowledgeable about wine here is one of the tricks used by men to appear more interesting.
The "news" comes from the British research site "Ask Jeeves," which asked 1000 of Her Majesty’s subjects what are the things that are most commonly used to seem more interesting. 26% of respondents admitted to pretending to know things they do not really know, including their alleged knowledge of the world of Bacchus, while among women the percentage drops to 14%.

But pretending is not only to seduce your partner: two thirds of respondents lie to captivate friends, 36% to look good on their job, 32% to seduce. But blunders are always just around the corner...
