Two great wine auctions, in Rome and Milan, “in defense of human life from conception to death, to contribute to the project for information and training on umbilical cord blood donations”. The main motivation behind the auctions is to support the “M3V Arte & Comunicazione” association, and is why Gelardini & Romani launched the “twim auctions” of great wines (www.anglicanaaste.com/public/guide/guida17.pdf ) on November 18th in Milan (Hotel Park Hyatt, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Duomo, 4 PM) and on November 25th in Rome (Casa Bleve, via del Teatro Valle 48, 5 PM).
”Being able to count on two exceptional European collections, both for quality and quantity, one for Italian wine and one for French wine” - explained Gelardini & Romani - “it was possible to receive acknowledgement from ‘Winetip en primeur’, the top Italian company specialized in great wines; as well as taking a vintage wine auction of international acclaim to Milan, with the goal of making it an established event as it has been in Rome since 2004 (Gelardini & Romani), or Stockholm (Stockholms Auktionsverk), and following the model of some of the most important cities in the world like London, Paris, and New York, where wine auctions are, by now, an integral part of the urban makeup, with consequential and important economic implications”. Gelardini & Romani Wine Auction (info: raimondo_r@tin.it , anglicana.aste@tin.it , tel. 06-3210259, 06-3230057, cell. 335-7724172) is the meeting point between supply and demand of vintage wine in Italy. It differentiates itself from other Italian wine auctions, online as well, because it offers clients - buyers and sellers - an exclusive and calibrated service for individual necessities.
Gelardini & Romani explained this idea: “The auction, before acting as a promotional tool or a frame for society events, it is a service. This is the philosophy that has provoked an immediate and growing consensus among collectors who, on the one hand, at the last auction in April 2006, bought 80% of the entire catalogue, on the other, also consigned two exceptional collections that make up the central choices for the two events this November”. Over 450 lots, with a lot minimum from 1 euro to 2,000 euros, over 2,000 bottles of prestigious wines, coming primarily from two extraordinary private collections.
What are these top lots? Over 260 bottles of the best chateau del Bordeaux (with an auction minimum per bottle of 50 euros), among which include Margaux, Latour, Mouton Rotschild, La Mission Haut Brion, Ausone, Cheval Blanc and many others, also from some of the most important years like 1934, 1985, 1988 and 1990; 41 bottles of La Landonne, La Mouline, La Turque, with a per bottle miminum of 140 euros; a most prestigious cru from the Cote Rotie produced by Etienne Guigal, between 1981 and 2000, subdivided into 19 lots, impossible to find in Italy; I Sodi San Niccolò 1985 (minimum per bottle price of 40 euros), Sassicaia 1988 and 1990 (minimum per bottle price 180 euro), Barolo Monfortino Riserva, Conterno 1945 (minimum per bottle price 200 euros), Romanée Conti Drc 1989 (minimum per bottle price 1,800 euros), a balthazar bottle (12 liters) of Pergole Torte 1997 (minimum per bottle price 800 euros), a double magnum (3 liters) of Solaia (Antinori) 1997 (minimum per bottle price 600 euros), a double magnum (3 liters) of Ornellaia 1998 at 440 euros, and a magnum of Masseto 1997 (minimum, 300 euro).
