SUPER ALLIANCE BETWEEN VERONAFIERE AND FIERE PARMA: REPRESENTING 60% OF THE FOOD & AGRICULTURE EXPO SECTOR, THE TWO ORGANIZATIONS WILL NOW CREATE A TRUE “AGRIFOODVALLEY” FOR INTERNATIONAL USE

The two largest food fair organizers in Italy, Veronafiere and Fiere di Parma, have agreed upon a strategic alliance (and rumor has it that Fiera di Roma may soon be joining the team as well). Veronafiere and Fiere di Parma are responsible for 60% of Italian food & agriculture expositions. And the decision to unite their forces was recently announced in Verona, by the directing manager of Veronafiere, Giovanni Mantovani.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Policies, Gianni Alemanno, commented positively on the alliance: “The partnership between Veronafiere and Fiere di Parma represents a step towards the creation of a specialized exposition system. At this point, given the excellence that is manifest in expositions like Vinitaly and other food & agriculture fairs organized by Veronafiere, the challenge is now that of creating a promotional system on an international level that is worthy of ‘Made in Italy’s’ ambitions.”
Veronafiere’s president, Luigi Castelletti, emphasized that, “Fiera di Verona is the number one direct organizer of Italian expositions, with 32 events held in 2005 (5 of which abroad), a 12th place European ranking for areas sold, total earnings of 65 million euros, 14,000 exhibitors (17% of whom were foreign) and 1 million and 100,000 visitors, of whom 12% were from abroad”.
Upon announcing the agreement with Fiere di Parma, Veronafiere directing manager, Giovanni Mantovani noted that, “this is truly a partnership for marketing and communications, and for united promotion on the international market. The initiatives abroad in 2006 for the food & wine system will be geared towards India, Russia, Usa, Japan, and China”.
”Fiere di Parma with Cibus”, stated Emilio De Piazza, managing director of Fiere di Parma, “is a reliable partner for all Italian companies in this sector because it facilitates encounters between the big international buyers in the market for the export of quality food products”.
