THE CURIOSITY: ROME TO BE THE “CAPITAL” OF “CALICI DI STELLE” (WINE UNDER THE STARS) 2006, THE ENO-ASTRONOMY EVENT OF THE YEAR.

For the first time Rome will be participating in “Calici di Stelle” (Wine Under the Stars), the national eno-astronomical event organized by Movimento Turismo del Vino (Wine Tourism Movement) and Città del Vino (Wine Cities).
The Rome event will run two days, August 10 (the festival of San Lorenzo) and 11, and will be held at both the Casina delle Rose (where powerful telescopes will be placed to allow participants to view the star shower and universe at large), and the Villa Borghese. The initiative will cost 8 euros, and includes a wine glass pouch with the logo “Calici di Stelle” printed on it, a carnet access card for the numerous tasting stands, the possibility to taste all wines, and free entry to all music and entertainment events. There will be 3 large tasting stands: one stand offering wines from the Lazio region (run by Arsial and local wine bars of Lazio), another stand offering tastings of 50 wines made from indigenous grapes by Vip - Vino in Piazza (an initiative run by Autoctono Srl and Città del Vino), and a third stand offering wines from the cellars of the Movimento del Turismo del Vino.
