THE WORLDWIDE SOMMELIER ASSOCIATION “ROAD SHOW” LEAVES FROM MILAN ON OCTOBER 8TH. CITY MAYOR MORATTI AND MINISTER DE CASTRO TO PARTICIPATE AT THE FIRST STOP OF MANY THAT WILL SPAN THE GLOBE.

The “Road Show” will begin in Milan on October 8th, moving on to London, Rome, Brussels, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Luxemburg, Madrid, Munich, Oslo, Berlin, Stockholm, Santo Domingo, Stuttgart and, finally, Tokyo. The event has been organized by the Worldwide Sommelier Association (which is the international organization created in March 2007 by the Italian Sommelier Association - AIS), and strongly supported by the organization’s president, Terenzio Medri and by the general manager, Franco Ricci (AIS Roma).

The general mission of the Worldwide Sommelier Association, which already counts 50,000 members, is that of promoting exchange between wine and food producing cultures of adhering countries (Italy, Spain, Germany, Britain, the United States, Belgium, and, soon, 10 other nations as well), to support an increase in overall quality.

The vernissage on October 8th will be held at the Grand Hotel Principe Savoia, with the participation of the Italian Minster of Agriculture, Paolo De Castro and city Mayor, Letizia Moratti and will offer a display of some of the top names in Italian and foreign wines: Château Lynch-Bages 2004, Château Haut Condissas 2000, Philippe Pacalet - Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru 2004, Maison La Chablisienne - Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir 2003, Billecart-Salmon - Champagne Brut Rosé, Gosset - Champagne Grand Riserve, Domaine Weinbach - Riesling Riserve 2005, Clos de La Colée de Serrant - La Colée de Serrant 2004, Château Suduiraut - Sauternes 2004, Wynn’s - Cabernet Sauvignon John Riddoch 1998, Henschke - Mt. It is set to be an exclusive event that will give life to a traveling window display whose costs will be supported by the wineries chosen by the Sommelier Association, offering a great amount of visibility.
