It is Italian the best rosé wine in the world: first on the podium among more than 1,200 labels

The best rosé wine in the world? It speaks Italian: the “Villa Cordevigo Gaudenzia” 2019 from the Veneto-based winery Vigneti Villabella won the “Vinolok Trophy” International Revelation, Grand Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, among the world’s most prestigious competitions, triumphing among 1,205 rosé wines coming in from all countries (the winery also won three Gold Medals and a Silver Medal). In addition to the international revelation, two other Italian wines won the Grand Gold Medal: Cantina Frentana’s “Sangro Rosato” 2023 and “Anfora Chiaretto Classico Rosato” 2022.
But it is Italy, in general, that confirmed its leadership in the production of great rosés, with no less than 76 wines awarded, including 36 that won the Gold Medal. 32% of the Italian wines entered in the Competition received an award: the regions with the highest number of medals were Puglia (26) and Veneto (16).
In the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, staged in Croatia and dedicated entirely to rosé wines, 55 international tasters awarded medals to wines from 32 nations. In a panorama of major producing nations, two countries stood out with 18 medals each: Croatia and Romania. The semi-dry revelation went, however, to a Romanian wine, C’Est Soir Busuioaca de Bohotin Semisweet.
